Course Content

Error and Error analysis:
Representation of numbers; error propagation and error estimation
- Solution of nonlinear equations
Bisection and Secant methods, Newton's method; Fixed point iteration and acceleration.
- System of linear equations:
Elimination, Factorization, Pivoting, and Iterative methods.
- Interpolation and Approximation:
Polynomial interpolation, Lagrange polynomial, Spline interpolation.
- Differentiation and Integration:
Numerical differentiation, Romberg integration, Gaussian quadrature.
- Initial Value Problems:
Eulers method, Runge-Kutta method, Convergence and Stability, Stiff Equations.
