The Department has student representatives on the Departmental Committee and appoints students to other committees such as tenure committees. There are three student positions on the Departmental Committee, one position for each of second, third and fourth years. Students on the Departmental Committee must be single-major or joint-major mathematics students. Usually, some (sometimes all) of the representatives are also members of the Mathematics Student Association MASCOT. Students are appointed to other committees on an ad hocbasis as needed.
